DC Kargil visits Sankoo, Taisuru blocks Lays foundation stone of BDC, BDO office building at Taisuru, inaugurates renovated BDC Office Sankoo
Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Santosh Sukhadeve visited Sankoo and Taisuru blocks on March 19 and took stock of developmental activities.
A public grievance redressal camps was also held at Sankoo and Tai Suru where DC Kargil interacted with various public delegations to know about their issues, grievances, demands and developmental needs.
Santosh Sukhadeve also visited BDO Office Sankoo where he inaugurated the renovated office of the BDC Chairperson Sankoo. He also laid the foundation stone of newly constructed BDC and BDO office building at Taisuru which is being constructed at a cost of Rs 50 lacs under SDP.
Delegations of the locals comprising of the Councillors of Lankarchey, and Parkachik, BDC Chairperson’s Tai Suru and Sankoo, Sarpanchs, Panchs and Nambardars of Sankoo, Tai Suru and the adjoining villages briefed the DC about different issues. They highlighted settlement of land compensation cases, deployment of medical staff at CHC Sankoo and other health centres, establishment of tourist view point in the area, deployment of teachers at various schools, augmentation of water supply, installation of transformers, establishment of solar and mini hydel projects and other related demands.
DC Santosh Sukhadeve assured suitable follow up in case of each issue and grievance. In case of certain demands, the DC gave on spot directions to the concerned officers to take immediate necessary measures for redressal.
He said that it is quite overwhelming to see that all the delegations are unanimously concerned about various issues of their areas particularly the education sector. He assured the locals that requisite steps would be taken to address the issues in a phased manner while certain issues will be taken up with the UT Administration at the earliest possible.
Regarding the problem of vacancy of Teachers and Lecturers, he said that a rationalisation policy of Teachers and students will be implemented soon.
Making mention of the steps being taken to address the crisis of water supply, the Deputy Commissioner said that under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) Government of India is committed to provide water facilities to every household. He said that in this regard 10,000 households of the district will be covered under the scheme during the financial year 2021-22 and by 2023 all households will be covered in Kargil district and provided with functional household tap connections (FHTCs). He urged the public representatives to extend support in solving land disputes so that public can get maximum benefits of the scheme.
SDM Sankoo briefed about various activities of the department. He apprised some issues of the department which included requirement of Naib Tehsildar and field staff.
Meanwhile, DC Santosh Sukhadeve also visited Government Higher Secondary School Putikchay and took stock of its overall functioning. He also visited 1 Megawatt Mini Hydel Project of KREDA at Chillung where the Project Director KREDA briefed him about the status of power supply to the local population from the project. He also visited PHC Panikhar where the Councillor Parkachik demanded for installation of separate transformer for the health centre.
