DC Kargil reviews AN-32 courier service plans for winter connectivity
Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse chaired a meeting through virtual mode on December 10 to discuss the operational arrangements for the AN-32 Kargil Courier Service for the 2024–25 winter season.
Key attendees included SSP Kargil, Director of the Airport Authority of India (AAI) Srinagar and Jammu, Senior Commandant CISF for Jammu & Srinagar airports, Er. Aamir Ali, Chief Coordinator AN-32 Courier Service, General Manager AIASL, officers from the Indian Air Force, and other stakeholders.
The discussions revolved around the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), facilities for passengers and crew, security protocols, infrastructure maintenance at Kargil airport, deployment of liaison officers from the district administration, and the introduction of an online ticket booking facility to ensure smooth operations of the courier service during winters.
It was emphasized that close coordination with all concerned authorities would be ensured well in advance for the courier service's effective functioning.
Deputy Commissioner Suse expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for their efforts in successfully operating the flights, which provided a lifeline to locals during the closure of the Zojila Pass. He appreciated their support in easing the challenges faced by residents during the harsh winter months.
All stakeholders assured their full cooperation and commitment to making the AN-32 service operational this winter as well.
