DC Kargil engages entrepreneurs, assures support to boost local industries and business growth
Deputy Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Kargil, Rakesh Kumar, on May 25 chaired an interaction meeting with around 20 leading entrepreneurs of the district at the Conference Hall, Baroo, in the presence of the General Manager, District Industries Centre (DIC) Kargil, to understand and address the issues and challenges faced by the local entrepreneurial community.
The meeting saw participation from entrepreneurs representing diverse sectors, including apricot processing units, oyster mushroom cultivation, wood carving and furniture manufacturing, dairy products, bakery units, online food delivery services, cloth designing, handloom and handicrafts, cement brick manufacturing units, and other emerging business sectors in the district.
During the interaction, entrepreneurs highlighted several issues affecting the growth of industries and enterprises in the district, particularly challenges related to packaging, branding, marketing, transportation of goods, and the lack of available land for the establishment and expansion of industrial units.
The participants also shared their success stories and experiences, reflecting the growing entrepreneurial spirit and business potential in Kargil district.
Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Kumar appreciated the efforts and contributions of the entrepreneurs towards employment generation and the economic development of the district. He assured the participants that both the district administration and the UT Administration remain fully committed to extending all possible support and handholding to the entrepreneurial community.
The DC further stated that every necessary assistance at both the district and Union Territory levels would be provided to facilitate the growth, promotion, and sustainability of local enterprises and industries in Kargil.
