DC Drass Imteeaz Kacho inspects hospital, reviews healthcare services

The Deputy Commissioner of Drass, Imteeaz Kacho (JKAS), on May 4 visited the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Drass to assess the status of healthcare services and facilities. He was accompanied by Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Drass, Vishal Atri (JKAS), and was received by Block Medical Officer (BMO) Drass, Dr. Sajjad Hussain, along with hospital staff.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected various sections of the hospital, including the General OPD, drug store, labour room, and other units. He reviewed the availability of essential medicines and equipment, hygiene conditions, toilet facilities, and overall service delivery.

The Deputy Commissioner also interacted with patients and hospital staff to gather feedback on the quality of healthcare services. He stressed the importance of maintaining proper hygiene, ensuring adequate stocks of medicines, and providing timely medical assistance. The BMO and his team were directed to address any deficiencies on priority and ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of the hospital.

He reiterated the administration’s commitment to strengthening healthcare services in the region.

Earlier in the day, the Deputy Commissioner met several delegations in his office from areas including Kharbu, Thasgam, Jasgund, Khiber, Shimsha, Muradbagh, and Ranbirpur, as well as office bearers of the Pensioners Association, Drass.

Representatives of the Hanfia Masjid also called on the Deputy Commissioner and discussed welfare measures. He further held interactions with officials from the Block Development Office, Zonal Education Office, and the Labour Department.

Commanding Officer of the BRO, Rakesh Rana, also met the Deputy Commissioner and discussed issues related to ongoing road projects at various locations. The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the BRO’s contribution in keeping the National Highway open during winters and for extending consistent support to the administration.

The Deputy Commissioner also received and welcomed Deputy Inspector General of Police Kaushal Kumar (IPS), who was on a visit to Drass to review public welfare and law and order issues. He was accompanied by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate.
