Cooperative Societies from Ladakh participate in international buyer-seller meet in Kashmir
Cooperative Societies from Ladakh participated in an international buyer-seller meet on June 10 organised by the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) with agro and food product importers from foreign countries, representatives from various product export companies and producers, Cooperative Societies and other food processing agencies at Srinagar.
The program was attended by the Additional Secretary, Government of India, Industries, and Commerce, Director Industries, Secretary Agricultural Department J&K, Additional Registrar Cooperatives, UT Ladakh, and Officers from line departments.
The Cooperative Societies UT, Ladakh participated in the event to discuss strategies for creating avenues for trade including product promotion, market expectations, and setting up buyer-seller connections.
Product exhibition stalls were installed for showcasing the products from the producers which included processed products from Fruit Growers Cooperative Society, Kargil and Bami Dunya Cooperative Society, Leh, producing apricot, apricot oil, dry apricot kernel, pulp fruit, sea-buckthorn juice, leaves, and dry berries.
The event also included interactive sessions between buyer and seller for marketing the products and for the sale of local products to the international market. The event is expected to boost the export potential of products from Ladakh in the international market.
