Commissioner Secretary, Ajeet Kumar Sahu reviews widening works on Kargil- Zanskar highway Appreciates efforts of district administration Kargil for completing land acquisition paperwork
Commission Secretary UT Ladakh, Ajeet Kumar Sahu reviewed the developmental works on Kargil-Zanskar Highway (NH-301) during a meeting with the concerned officers on February 14 at Conference Hall, Baroo.

Ajeet Kumar Sahu appreciated the district administration, the revenue field functionaries and concerned agencies for completing the papers for the acquisition of land in record time. He lauded the contribution and dedication of revenue staff that did not stop working even during heavy snowfall and completed the work on the stipulated time.
Sahu also applauded the mechanical department for its efforts and their relentless services in harsh climatic conditions in keeping the Kargil- Zanskar road open in the winter season for the second time in a row.
During the meeting, the matter about land acquisition, the status of LA process was briefed and informed that documents for 3A of Package 1, 2 & 3 have been prepared and submitted to Deputy Commissioner Kargil.
Kargil ADM was asked to expedite notification of 3A and complete the whole process, latest by February 28, 2022.
Related to Forest Assessment & LA in village Minjee, ED NHIDCL informed that LA assessment work in Minjee was disrupted. Further, the CS was informed that the draft order has been forwarded to HQ NHIDCL and will be served on receipt of its approval shortly. ED NHIDCL requested the UT Administration to issue direction to certify completion of all the utility shifting which was being done by EPC Contraction as per the specification so that their payment can be cleared.
About the realignment of NH-301 for 0 to 6 kilometres, Sahu was informed that as per the decision of the UT Administration, work is not being done in the stretch of 6 km. A re-alignment proposal submitted by the NHIDCL Kargil is to be examined by a technical team in the next two weeks.
Related to the pending documents of NH-301 from PWD, Ladakh, the ED NHIDCL requested for speedy handing over of pending documents and all related documents of liabilities. The CS directed the PWD officials to take necessary action on priority.
