Clean Leh Mission 2026 launched across Government schools in Leh
The Chief Education Officer, in coordination with the Municipal Committee, launched the “Clean Leh Mission 2026” across various government schools within the municipal limits of Leh on May 25. The large-scale cleanliness campaign aims to promote environmental awareness, hygiene, and social responsibility among students, staff, and the local community.
The mission began with a series of activities, including comprehensive cleanliness drives in and around school premises, along with the administration of the “Swachhta Pledge.”
Students and staff participated enthusiastically in cleaning school surroundings to reinforce the importance of public hygiene and environmental conservation. As part of the campaign, senior students, under the guidance of school staff, also demonstrated practical plantation techniques by planting nursery flowers and vegetables for the school kitchen garden.
The “Clean Leh Mission 2026” will continue throughout the coming week with a range of educational and community-based activities. Scheduled events include poster-making competitions on May 26, essay writing and debate competitions on May 28, and informative street plays and cultural programmes on May 30.
The mission will conclude on May 31 with a large-scale community cleanliness drive involving parents, local residents, government offices, and private institutions, all working together to ensure a cleaner, healthier, and more vibrant Leh.
