A newly constructed office complex of BDO, Chushot constructed under District Plan at an estimated cost of ₹ 59.00 lakh was inaugurated on June 29 in Chuchot.

 

Dr. Dawa, CEC said that the present Hill Council focussing on the developmental aspiration of the people is making every effort to give clean and prompt governance to the district. He also seeks guidance and cooperation from the general masses in order to make all the developmental policies well public-oriented. 

Informing about the 40 different posts presently lying vacant with the department, he said that filling up of all these posts will bring better results in Leh through RDD. 

Thupstan Chhewang, Member of Parliament said that during the tenure of Nawang Rigzin Jora as Minister in the State Govt, Leh district has received a good share of new administrative units and this has considerably helped to strengthen the rural development activities in the district. 

Out of his annual MP LAD fund of ₹ 5.00 crore, maximum funds are being allotted for rural development works, the MP said that much better results can be expected from the department with hardworking local officers headed by Tsering Paldan.

Underlining the sanctity of LAHDC, Thupstan Chhewang felt the need to give due respect and cooperation to the Council in order to lead Ladakh towards a stable and sustainable future. 

Congratulating the people of Chushot block for achieving a quality office complex for Rural Dev. Deptt., Nawang Rigzin Jora MLA urged upon the people to fully participate in all developmental works with close monitoring so as to ensure worth and quality of work. 

Jora further said that Leh is fortunate to have a number of dynamic local KAS officers and they can be fully trusted for giving good service to their own people. He appealed the people to rise above the interest of political affiliation and contribute collectively to the progress of the region. 

Giving a detail summery on the activities of the department, Tsering Wangdus, EC Rural Development, said that RDD is playing a vital role in the development and prosperity of the district. He appreciated the hard-work of RDD headed by Tsering Paldan, AC Dev. and said that Rural Development Department Leh is conferred with Best District Award by the GoI in achieving MGNREGA schemes recently.

The speakers appreciated the hard work and dedication of BDO Chuchot Ali Akbar who had promptly implemented all the rural development schemes which has proved to be a boon to the district in general and the people in particular.
