Chief Secretary reviews deregulation and ease of doing business initiatives in UT Ladakh
Chief Secretary of the Union Territory of Ladakh, Ashish Kundra, on May 21 chaired a meeting to review the progress and implementation status of various initiatives related to deregulation and Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) in the Union Territory.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on priority areas identified under the EoDB framework, including implementation status, priority-wise EoDB mapping, and measures to ensure effective execution through the EoDB mechanism. The meeting also reviewed the rationalisation of No Objection Certificates (NOCs) aimed at simplifying procedures and reducing the compliance burden on citizens and businesses.
The Chief Secretary further reviewed amendments proposed under the draft Omnibus Bill, which seeks to streamline regulatory processes, remove redundant provisions, and promote a more business-friendly administrative environment in Ladakh.
Emphasising the importance of regulatory reforms and citizen-centric governance, the Chief Secretary directed the concerned departments to ensure timely implementation of the proposed reforms and work in coordination to enhance transparency, efficiency, and ease of service delivery.
The meeting was attended by the Commissioner Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Department (HUDD); Secretary, I&FC; Secretary, Industries; Secretary, Law; Secretary, Education; and other concerned heads of departments and officials.
