Chief Secretary reviews creation of posts for new districts, recruitment rules and ad-hoc promotions
Chief Secretary, UT Ladakh, Ashish Kundra chaired a review meeting on the creation of posts for the newly created districts, framing of Recruitment Rules (RRs) for junior-scale posts of 15 departments/services, and ad-hoc promotions at the VC Hall, Ground Floor, UT Secretariat.
At the outset, Administrative Secretary, General Administration Department (GAD), Rudra Pratap Goud, made a detailed presentation on the posts proposed for the new districts, the proposal submitted to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) along with the model district framework, and the status of draft Recruitment Rules and promotions, department-, cadre- and post-wise.
The Chief Secretary directed that due focus be given to strengthening the cadre in core administrative departments and essential services, including Revenue, Health, Engineering, Disaster Management and Police. He reviewed the post requirements of each department in detail and emphasised systematic and proper rationalisation of posts.
The Chief Secretary also reviewed the status of Departmental Promotion Committees (DPCs) and legacy issues pertaining to the Education, PWD and Power departments.
