Chairman, DDMA Leh, inspects Covid-19 surveillance mechanism Nine FIR’s registered against covid curfew violators around Chuchot Yokma
Chairman, DDMA Leh, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse visited Shey, Thiksay and Chuchot villages on May 17 and reviewed COVID management in light of the surge in cases in these areas.
Chairman, DDMA Leh, directed the concerned officials to establish Covid Care Centres/institutional quarantine centres in the community halls or high schools in these villages with beds and other facilities such as oxygen concentrators, cylinders, medicines and required essentials. These preventive and preparatory measures are for effective mitigation of the spread of infection.
Shrikant Balasaheb Suse impressed upon the officials to increase Covid surveillance and contact tracing mechanisms. He also directed the officials to enforce Covid SOPs. The officials were asked to ensure an unhindered supply of essential commodities and goods in these areas through home delivery.
With the outbreak of infection among labourers in the Shey and Thiksey area in mind, the Chairman, DDMA Leh directed strict monitoring of Covid patients in home isolation and contacts in quarantine.
The Administration also distributed Covid care kits to patients in home isolation.
Chairman, DDMA Leh, visited PHC Thiksay and directed the concerned officials to increase the number of oxygenated beds for Covid patients to 10. He also directed CMO, Leh, to make available oxygen cylinders/concentrators at the earliest.
During the visit, Chairman DDMA, Leh also inspected the enforcement of the Covid curfew in these areas. Nine FIRs were registered against people found violating the covid curfew restrictions around Chuchot Yokma.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Leh; Councillor, Chuchot; Additional Superintendent of Police, Leh; Chief Medical Officer, Leh; Tehsildar, Leh; Block Medical Officer, Leh; Block Development Officer, Kharu and Nambardar, Thiksey accompanied the Chairman during the visit.
