CEC Tashi Gyalson visits fire accident site at Industrial Estate, Leh Announces Ex-Gratia relief of Rs. 4 lakh from SDRF and Rs. 1 lakh from council fund

Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson, accompanied by Executive Councillor Ghulam Mehdi, visited the site of a devastating fire at the Industrial Estate in Leh, which tragically claimed the lives of two individuals.
The victims have been identified as Manoj Kumar (30) from Chhattisgarh and Mohd Faisal Ansari (24) from Roorkee, Uttarakhand.
Councillor Lamayuru Dr. Morup Dorjey, Tehsildar Leh Attaullah Khan, Industrial Promotion Officer Mohd Zakiria, and other officials were also present during the visit.
The fire caused extensive damage to the factory, destroying vital machinery and infrastructure, rendering the facility inoperable.
During the inspection, CEC Tashi Gyalson expressed deep concern over the tragic incident and assured full support to the affected families. He announced that an ex-gratia relief of Rs. 4 lakh each is being provided from the SDRF by the District Administration, along with Rs. 1 lakh each from the Council Fund.
Furthermore, he stated that he would request the Lieutenant Governor of UT Ladakh to extend additional assistance to the victims. He also directed officials to conduct a thorough assessment of the damage to determine the full extent of the losses.
