CEC reviews functioning of health department Kargil
CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon chaired a meeting with the officers and officials of the Health Department on November 13 and reviewed the functioning and activities of the department in Kargil.
The meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officer Kargil, Dr. Munawar Hussain Wazir; MS District Hospital, Dr Kacho Liyaqat Khan; Deputy CMO Kargil, Dr Mohd Abass, BMOs, and other concerned officers and officials of the department.
Discussion on the status of the health care services, various schemes, undergoing projects, developmental works, etc. of the department was carried out. The financial status of different schemes like RCH Flexible Pool, Mission Flexible Pool, Immunization, NCD, etc. was discussed. It was apprised that ₹2,149.53 Lakh out of ₹2,926.57 Lakh allocated for various schemes has been spent up to the end of October 2023. Efficient fund utilization remains a key focus in ongoing initiatives.
The status of infrastructure under the National Health Mission (NHM) was also discussed. The CEC was informed about the amount approved and the expenditure on different works under the NHM.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on block-wise work capital expenditure taking place, addressing various considerations. Project updates from each block were discussed.
CEC took an assessment of the physical and financial progress report and action plan FY 2023-24 under SDP. He also took an assessment of winter stock of drugs and medicines in the district. The meeting also discussed the dearth of doctors in the district.
CEC assured efficient fund utilization, emphasizing a proper allocation for effective healthcare solutions in the district.
During the meeting, he appreciated the efforts of the health department and urged its officials to contribute to further push the health sector in the region. He also reiterated the commitment of the LAHDC Kargil to support the health department's initiatives in the district.
