Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Tashi Gyalson reviewed and discussed various measures on the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020 and the rationalization of schools in Leh Ladakh on February 9.

Discussion was held on the National Education Policy, setting up of Sainik School in Leh district, State Curriculum framework, rationalization and strengthening of schools in Leh. 

CEC Gyalson emphasised the need for school management committees to look after the mental and physical health of students in schools and stressed the need for upgrading quality of school education in the border areas. He further directed the officials of the school education department to come up with a constructive framework for resolving such issues in the future.

The meeting was attended by Dy Chairman, Tsering Angchuk, Executive Councillor for RDD, Tashi Namgyal Yakzee, Executive Councillor for Minority Affairs, Ghulam Mehdi Ashoor, Executive Councillor for Art and Culture, Stanzin Chosphel, DC Leh, Shrikant Suse, CPO Leh, CEO Leh, ZEO Leh, Principal, DIET Leh; Principal, Govt Boys Higher Secondary School, Leh; Principal, Govt Higher Secondary School, Khaltsi; and other officials of Education Department. Director, School Education Ladakh attended the meeting virtually.
