CEC, Leh reviews key development initiatives in Leh
CEC, Adv. Tashi Gyalson chaired a review meeting with Dr. Vasanthakumar Namasivayam, Principal Secretary of Forest and Health, and Brij Mohan Sharma, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (APCCF) on December 11.
The meeting focused on ongoing development projects and initiatives aimed at improving healthcare, education, and wildlife management in the region.
CEC Gyalson termed the recent approval of 265 posts for SNM Hospital and Medical College as "historical," appreciating the UT Administration's efforts. He told the Principal Secretary to initiate the recruitment process at the earliest and make the degree college infrastructure ready to run at the earliest by summer.
The Principal Secretary of Health informed about the recent advertisement for engaging specialist doctors under NHM for UT Ladakh, minimizing the requirement for specialized care.
CEC Gyalson appreciated the approval for establishing a Nursing College in Leh, providing students with local access to BSc and MSc Nursing courses. This initiative will foster local capacity-building in the healthcare sector.
During the meeting, the rationalization of wildlife boundaries was also discussed, and CEC was informed that it is nearing completion, with significant progress made in a short time, contributing to the region's overall development.
