CEC Kargil welcomes new Hajj Committee, assures land for Hajj house

Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon on May 18 welcomed the newly appointed members of the Hajj Committee at the Council Secretariat, Kargil.

During the interaction, the Chief Executive Councillor expressed hope that the newly constituted Hajj Committee would work with dedication and enthusiasm under the leadership of Chairman Ghulam Abass Abidi. He also appreciated the contributions of former Chairman Mohd Ali Majaz, acknowledging his sincere efforts and valuable service towards the welfare of Hajj pilgrims.

The members of the Hajj Committee submitted a memorandum to the CEC seeking allotment of land for the establishment of a Hajj Facilitation Centre/Hajj House in Kargil to ensure better facilities and proper assistance for pilgrims.

In response, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon assured the committee of full support from Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council Kargil and stated that land for the noble cause would be allotted at the earliest. He further directed Executive Officer Hajj Committee/Accounts Officer Zakir Hussain to initiate and process the necessary land-related formalities.

The CEC also stated that efforts are underway for the establishment of a Passport Seva Kendra in Kargil and emphasized the need for collective support from the new Hajj Committee to pursue the matter effectively for the benefit of the public, particularly Hajj pilgrims.

Among those present during the meeting were Chairman Ghulam Abass Abidi, newly appointed members Bilal Ahmad, Zahara Banoo, Mohd Hussain, Aisha Malo, Sheikh Liyqat, Haji Ghulam Mohd, Executive Officer Hajj Committee Zakir Hussain, and Hajj Coordinator Habibullah.
