CEC Kargil meets LG Vinai Kumar Saxena, discusses developmental issues

Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon met the newly appointed Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Vinai Kumar Saxena, at Lok Niwas in New Delhi on March 7.

The CEC congratulated the Lieutenant Governor on assuming charge and expressed hope that under his leadership the developmental aspirations of the people of the Union Territory would be further strengthened.

During the meeting, Dr. Akhoon discussed various socio-political, developmental, and geographical aspects of the Union Territory of Ladakh, with particular focus on the challenges faced by the region due to its vast terrain, harsh climatic conditions, and remote habitations. He also highlighted the developmental aspirations and key issues concerning the people of both Kargil and Leh districts.

Dr. Akhoon emphasised the need for stronger coordination between the UT Administration and the Hill Councils to ensure timely implementation of developmental projects, improvement of basic infrastructure, and enhanced delivery of public services, particularly in remote areas. He also underlined the importance of balanced and inclusive development across the region.

The Lieutenant Governor gave a patient hearing to the concerns and suggestions raised by the CEC and appreciated the proactive role played by the Hill Council in addressing local issues and promoting development in the district.

Assuring his full cooperation and support, the Lieutenant Governor stated that the administration remains committed to the welfare and holistic development of the people of Ladakh. He expressed confidence that through collective efforts and coordinated planning, ongoing and upcoming developmental initiatives in both Leh and Kargil districts will be further accelerated.
