CEC Kargil inspects preparations at District Hospital ahead of LG’s visit

Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, on April 9 visited District Hospital Kargil to review preparations ahead of the visit of the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, V.K. Saxena.

During the visit, Dr. Akhoon carried out a comprehensive inspection of the hospital premises, particularly in view of the proposed renaming of District Hospital Kargil as Qambar Ali Akhoon Memorial Hospital. He emphasised the importance of maintaining high standards of cleanliness and overall hospital management.

The CEC interacted with Chief Medical Officer Dr. Abass, along with administrative and medical staff, reviewing the preparedness of various departments and assessing the availability of essential medical facilities, equipment, and staff readiness.

He also discussed key developmental initiatives, including the proposed foundation stone laying for a Nursing College and the inauguration of a Blood Bank. Dr. Akhoon directed concerned officials to finalise the location and ensure that all necessary groundwork and documentation are completed in a timely manner.

Further, he instructed the hospital administration to strengthen emergency services, ensure adequate availability of medicines, and maintain proper sanitation across the premises.

Hospital authorities assured the CEC that all necessary arrangements would be put in place well in advance to ensure the smooth conduct of the upcoming visit.
