CEC Kargil distributes laptops to meritorious 10th and 12th students under LAHDC scheme

Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd. Jaffer Akhoon, distributed free laptops to meritorious students of the 10th and 12th classes under the LAHDC Subsidy Scheme on November 26. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Commissioner and CEO LAHDC Kargil, Rakesh Kumar, Chief Education Officer Kargil, students, and their parents.

CEC Dr. Jaffer Akhoon congratulated the students and their parents for achieving an important milestone in their academic journey. He emphasized that LAHDC Kargil is committed to providing quality education, equal opportunities, and enhanced learning resources to students across the district.

Highlighting ongoing initiatives, Dr. Akhoon noted that remedial classes and improved hostel facilities have significantly contributed to better academic performance in government schools. He reaffirmed LAHDC Kargil’s vision to strengthen the education sector and its continuous efforts to upgrade educational standards.

Dr. Akhoon also informed that a holistic and fair teacher transfer policy has been drafted and will be implemented, keeping students’ academic interests and overall benefit in focus. He appreciated the Deputy Commissioner for conducting free and transparent DSSRB Class 12 recruitment examinations and expressed confidence that future recruitment drives would maintain the same standards of fairness and dedication.

Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Kumar said the district administration, in collaboration with LAHDC Kargil, is committed to providing logical, reasoning-based, and conceptual education to students. He announced the launch of Kargil Digital Classes, where teachers and lecturers record topic-wise lectures to be provided to students free of cost. This initiative aims to help students clarify doubts and strengthen understanding of academic concepts.

The DC also lauded the Education Department for its pivotal role in improving the overall education ecosystem in the district.

Under the LAHDC Subsidy Scheme, the Education Department has distributed around 42 laptops each year from 2022–23 to 2024–25, enabling students to access digital learning tools and enhancing their academic capabilities.
