CEC, EC Changthang and DC Leh visits Tangtse & Chushul constituencies Assesses public grievances & review developmental works
CEC, Hill Council, Leh, Tashi Gyalson, EC, Tashi Namgyal Yakzee, and the Deputy Commissioner Leh, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse visited the villages of Tangtse and Chushul constituency in the Changthang region on November 9 and 10.
The officials inaugurated Women Craft-Centre at Nimgo village, central heating system and an aluminum glass room at PHC Tangtse, Solar Battery Bank replacements at (Yurgo, Lukung, Spangmik, Chushul, and Sato villages), Waste Segregation Centre of Project Tsangda at Lukung Pangong, a Rest House at Yerath village and a Community hall at Pholongley village.
EC Tashi Yakzee also the Councillor of Tangtse constituency handed over the Public Address (PA) System with Amplifiers under his CCDF to the villagers of Mukleb and Shachukul villages during the tour.
Villagers highlighted major issues including completion of road connectivity with blacktopping, telecommunication connectivity with high-speed internet, redressal of drinking water issues, land allotment issues, irrigation canal issues, the up-gradation of the existing govt schools and health centers with adequate staff, up-gradation of VSATs, the requirement of electricity transmission lines, renovations of community halls, reparation of motorable bridges, developmental requirements at monasteries and strengthening of village-level self-help and women alliance groups.
CEC, EC RDD, and DC Leh evaluated all the issues with an on-ground visit to the sites.
CEC, Tashi Gyalson directed concerned Executive Engineers of various departments to timely execute all the planned developmental works in the entire belt of Tangtse and Chushul constituencies keeping in view the short working season in the region. He also directed ACD Leh and BDO Durbuk to note and address infrastructural issues and other developmental works in all the villages.
CEC, EC RDD and DC Leh visited Shayok, Durbuk (Laga, Nimgo, Punpun), Tangtse, Mukleb, Lukung, Yurgo, Phobrang, Spangmik, Maan, Merak, Khaktet, and Chushul villages on the first day followed by Go Green plantation site at Chushul, Villages of Barma, Kherapulu, Sato, Chibra, Yerath, Chilam, Pholongley, Shachukhul and Tharuk on the second day. The villagers of the Changthang region accorded a warm welcome to all the officials during their visit.
