CEC, LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, paid rich tributes to former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh during a condolence meeting, recognizing his outstanding contributions to the nation’s growth and development.

The ceremony was attended by Executive Councillors Aga Syed Mujtaba, Kacho Mohd Feroz, Er. Punchok Tashi, and staff members of LAHDC.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Akhoon praised Dr. Singh’s leadership and vision, which he credited with shaping India’s economic landscape. “His commitment to social welfare and inclusive growth has inspired generations of Indians,” he said.

He highlighted Dr. Singh’s significant achievements, including introducing key economic reforms, liberalizing trade and investment, and driving rapid economic growth. The CEC also noted landmark initiatives under Dr. Singh’s administration, such as the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) and the Right to Information Act (RTI), which transformed governance and empowered citizens.

Akhoon further emphasized the former Prime Minister’s dedication to education and healthcare, which expanded access to quality services for millions of Indians.

“Dr. Manmohan Singh’s legacy is a testament to the power of dedicated public service and visionary leadership. We honor his contributions to our nation’s progress and express our deepest gratitude for his selfless service,” said the CEC.
