With the spread of COVID-19, Gyal P Wangyal, CEC, Hill Council, Leh discussed the present situation in the district and required measures needed to be taken in the coming weeks with R K Mathur, Lieutenant Governor on March 20. 

Gyal P Wangyal urged people to follow the advice of the Central Government and UT Administration regarding COVID-19 prevention measures. Also, he requested everyone to observe Janata Curfew, as desired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday from 7 AM to 9 PM and applaud those frontline individuals (Medical Services, Police, Essential Service, Media etc) involved in the fight against COVID-19.

In view of the imposition of Section 144 of CrPC and like all other Government Office, Hill Council, Leh Office is also closed.
