Candlelight peace march held at MIMC on 2569th Vesak Purnima
A candlelight peace march was held at the Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC), Choglamsar, on the auspicious occasion of the 2569th Vesak Purnima, commemorating the birth anniversary of Lord Buddha.
Marking Buddha Purnima, the evening march was led by Venerable Bhikkhu Sanghasena, Founder President of MIMC, who guided participants in a spirit of peace, compassion, and reflection in accordance with the teachings of the Buddha.
Among the distinguished attendees were Sanjit Rodrigues, IAS, Administrative Secretary of the Tourism & Culture Department, Union Territory of Ladakh, and Mandeep Mittal, IFS, Additional Secretary of the Department of Tourism & Culture and the Department of Forest, Ecology & Environment.
Monks from the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC), along with students and teachers of Mahabodhi Residential School and local residents, actively participated in the candlelight march.
The event served as a reminder of the timeless values of non-violence, compassion, and harmony as taught by the Buddha, and concluded with prayers for global peace and well-being.
