District Industries Centre, Kargil organised an awareness program on PM Vishwakarma, a central sector scheme of the Government of India at Dak Bungalow Zanskar on November 15.

During the awareness program, Industrial Promotion Officer, Showkat Ahmad Lone explained in detail about the registration, skill up-gradation, tool kit, incentive credit support, marketing support, etc. to the BDCs, Sarpanches, Panches, artisans, and other participants of the Sub Division Zanskar.

The awareness camp was attended by Incharge Sub Divisional Magistrate Zanskar, Tsering Norbu, BDO Zanskar, SHO Zanskar, and all Sub Divisional Officers, PRI members, and a large number of people.

PM Vishwakarma scheme was launched on 17th September 2023 by the Prime Minister to provide end-to-end support to artisans and craftspeople who work with their hands and tools. The scheme covers artisans and craftspeople engaged in 18 trades.
