An awareness programme on Menstrual Health and Hygiene with sensitization regarding the use of the Menstrual Cup was held at Shakhoq Community Hall GMPore on January 10.

The awareness programme was organised by Baqirya Health Care & Research Center(BHC&RC)Kargil in collaboration with Block Medical Officer Community Health Center(CHC), Sankoo, Kargil.

Block Medical officer, Community Health Center, Sankoo, Dr. Ghulam Hussain; Dr. Nasreen Fatima, Gynaecologist Obstetrician, CHC Sankoo & President of (BHC&RC) Kargil, Community Health Officer's(CHO's) ANM,s, ASHA's and where in a larger good number of girl students menstrual age were also present during the camp.

The main objective of the awareness program was to sensitize sisters on menstrual hygiene and to ensure the safe disposal of sanitary pads.

They were also informed about how they can seek help in case of any problem related to menstruation.

During the awareness program,  Dr. Nasreen Fatima,  Gynaecologist Obstetrician & Vice President of Baqirya  Health Care & Research Centre Kargil(BHC&RC) highlight the importance of good menstrual hygiene and raising awareness about the social issues faced by women during menstruation and ease of access to sanitary products.

Block Medical Officer, Sankoo, Dr. Ghulam Hussain highlighted the importance of good menstrual hygiene and spoke about the social issues faced by women during menstruation.

Meanwhile, training on PAP smear collection on screening for cervical cancer was also held.
