A review meeting was convened by Avny Lavasa, DC for the preparation of Independence day celebration on July 26 in Leh.

Moses Kunzang, ADC, district officers and different security agencies were present in the meeting.

The main celebration will be held at Polo ground Leh with the hoisting of National flag at 9 am. Similarly, the functions will be held at Sub-divisions and Tehsil headquarters. 

Contingents of JKP, ITBP, CRPF, NCC Boys and Girls and school children of both Government and Private institutions will participate in the parade. J&K Cultural Academy, Leh, Information and Public Relations Department and school children will present the cultural programs.

Decoration of venue, seating arrangements, power supply, drinking water, barricading and sanitation measures were discussed.

It was further told that rehearsal of parade shall be held from August 8 to 12 with full dress rehearsal on August 13.

Avny Lavasa directed all the district officers to ensure adequate arrangement in every aspect to make the event a grand success.

SDM Khaltsi, Sachin Kumar also convened a meeting to review the preparation of Independence Day celebrations at Khaltsi.
