Apex Body delegation meets L-G Ladakh, requests to start recruitment process
A delegation of “Apex Body of Peoples Movement for Sixth Schedule for Ladakh” met Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, R K Mathur on February 1.
The delegation comprising Thupstan Chhewang, Chering Dorjey Lakruk, Ashraf Ali Barcha, and Noor Mohd appreciated the efforts taken by the UT Administration to stock essential commodities for the winters. They shared that the availability of essential commodities in the ongoing winter months has surpassed that of the past summer months.
The members of the Apex Body requested UT Administration to take up the recruitment process in various government departments of Ladakh so that youth from the region could be employed.
Appreciating the concern shown by the Apex Body, Lieutenant Governor stated that the UT Administration had earlier submitted the domicile requirements for recruitments in UT Ladakh to the Ministry of Home Affairs. L-G pointed out that a Central Committee headed by MoS Home, G K Reddy is holding talks with the Apex Body on various issues, including protection of employment.
The recruitment to various government posts in Ladakh would be subject to the outcome of the discussions and decisions taken by the committee. He urged the Apex Body members to find an urgent resolution to this issue so that Ladakh Administration can initiate recruitment to vacant posts at the earliest.
Umang Narula Advisor to the Governor, and Satish Khandare, ADGP, Ladakh was also present during the meeting.
