Additional Registrar reviews functioning of cooperative institutions in Leh

Additional Registrar, Cooperative Department, UT Ladakh, Nargis Banoo, JKAS, visited various subordinate offices and cooperative institutions in Leh on August 18 to review their functioning and progress.

During the visit, she reviewed the functioning of the offices, audit status of cooperative societies and progress of various ongoing projects. She also interacted with officers, officials and members of cooperative societies and took note of the issues and grievances raised by them.

The Additional Registrar inspected key cooperative assets and facilities, including the Pashmina Dehairing Plant, Leh, and assessed their functioning and utilisation. She also visited the Bami Dunia Cooperative Society (BDCS) Super Bazaar and chemist outlet in Leh and reviewed their overall functioning.

During the interaction, members of cooperative societies apprised her of various issues and difficulties being faced by them. She assured them that their genuine concerns would be examined and appropriate action taken at the earliest. She also emphasised the need for efficient functioning of cooperative institutions and optimum utilisation of cooperative assets for the benefit of their members.

Mukhtar Hussain Wazir, Accounts Officer, along with officials from the Office of the Additional Registrar, Cooperative Department, accompanied her during the visit. The Accounts Officer was apprised of various financial issues faced by officials and cooperative societies. He assured that possible solutions would be explored and matters requiring higher-level intervention would be taken up with the competent authority.
