A team headed by Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Leh conducted a surprise market checking of various vegetable shops /Kiryana shops at Skalzangling, Skara and Bus-stand areas on April 9.

A fine was imposed on 20 shops for selling expired items and not following the norms of properly displaying rate lists approved by the administration. A total fine of Rs 4000 was collected. Strict warning was given to the defaulters from refraining from overcharging, hoarding essential commodities, selling rotten/sub-standard or expired materials also non-display of rate list, failing which action, as warranted under rules, shall be taken.
