43 entrepreneurs completed 21 days of Entrepreneurship Development Programme

43 prospective entrepreneurs under Seed Capital Fund Scheme completed 21 days entrepreneurship development programme on December 10 at Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute. 

The entrepreneurship development programme of SCFS was imparted under Sher-e-Kashmir Employment and Welfare Programme for the Youth, SKEWPY. It aims at promoting rural entrepreneurship, creating job opportunities, reducing youth unemployment, and generating sustainable development among enterprises. 

Moses Kunzang, Additional Deputy Commissioner, chief guest congratulated the prospective entrepreneurs and expects them to move forward than dwelling in the past. 

 
He said, “Entrepreneurs could bring changes by generating employment, advancing skills to unskilled people, promoting better scope of market and be limitless. Ultimately, these contributions would not only be at an individual level rather at the community and the regional level.” 

He further stressed thinking out of the box and bringing innovation with the help of technology and the internet.

Dr. Dorjay Namgyal, Head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra focused on Agro-based entrepreneurship in Ladakh as the need to secure access to an appropriately nutritious diet, comprising all essential nutrients rather than mere food security. He further added the importance of organic farming by advancing tools and methods in preference of Ladakh weather condition and topography. 

He urged prospective entrepreneurs to engage more in rural- and agro-based entrepreneurship. 

Briefing about the process of the entrepreneurship development programme, Dorjay Wangchuk, Executive Manager, JKEDI, Leh said that it is a single-window system where they prepare Detail Project Report and conduct the pre-sanction survey. After that, there are legal formalities, disbursal, and post-sanction survey to examine whether or not the unit is successfully established. 

Rinchen Namgyal, a JKEDI alumnus, especially emphasized on maintaining business ethics, social and moral responsibilities besides making fast money. He stressed on quality business to promote sustainable development. 

For being a successful and creative entrepreneur, two entrepreneurs were felicitated.
