2 more positive cases detected in Kargil
Two more persons tested positive for COVID-19 in Ladakh, both the patients are from Sankoo village of Kargil district, taking the total number of active cases to six.
Rigzin Samphel, Commissioner/Secretary Health said, “A total of 32 numbers of COVID-19 results are received from National Centre for Disease Control, New Delhi, with 4 sample reports of Leh and 28 sample reports of Kargil district".
Samphel informed that both the patients are family members of Khala-Marpo mohala of Sankoo village and had a travel history to Iran and had reached Delhi on February 25 and had further travelled to Leh from Delhi on February 29 via Go-Air Airlines GA 220.
Samphel further stated that 11 persons were found under the high-risk category and were isolated in institutional quarantine while 18 were kept under the low-risk category and are home quarantined. Both the positive patients have been shifted to the dedicated COVID-19 hospital in Kargil. About 250 samples have been collected among which 170 were collected from Chuchot Yokma and 112 have been collected from Bogdang.
“The condition of 6 active COVID-19 cases in UT Ladakh is stable. 246 samples of UT Ladakh were sent to NCDC, New Delhi for testing today. Out of the total samples, 239 samples are of Leh district and 7 samples are of Kargil district, reads the Media Bulletin of the Directorate of Health Services of UT Administration Ladakh.
Doctors were deployed for health check-up of recent Iran returnees in Kargil quarantine facility, where 62 pilgrims were checked and found fit.
