13th BN NDRF conducts mock drill at GDC Kargil

The 13th Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Ludhiana, conducted a comprehensive mock drill at Government Degree College (GDC) Kargil on September 10.
The exercise focused on disaster preparedness, simulating scenarios such as earthquake response, fire extinguishing, CPR training, and disaster rescue operations. Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kargil, Suhail Ahmad, Principal of GDC Kargil, Assistant Commandant of the 13th Battalion NDRF, Javed Iqbal, along with senior officers from the UTDRF, other concerned officials, volunteers, faculty members, and students of GDC Kargil, participated in the event.
ADC Suhail Ahmad emphasized the importance of such drills in enhancing disaster preparedness. He encouraged students to actively engage in the exercises and apply the lessons learned in real-life situations to ensure their safety and knowledge.
The event included live demonstrations of various rescue operations and the use of disaster management equipment, conducted by highly trained NDRF instructors. These practical demonstrations aimed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge necessary for effective disaster response. The mock drill serves as an essential initiative in preparing local communities and institutions to handle emergencies, reinforcing NDRF's ongoing commitment to public safety.
