10 days rock climbing course begins in Leh
The University of Ladakh in collaboration with Ladakh Mountaineering and Adventure Club inaugurated 10 days Rock Climbing and Compact Adventure Course on October 3 at Shey Smanla Rock Face, near Sindhu Ghat.
The rock climbing is scheduled to be held till October 12. Twenty selected students of the University of Ladakh from the Kargil and Leh districts are participating in this 10-day course.
Secretary, Youth Services and Sports, UT Ladakh, Ravinder Kumar was the chief guest, and Colonel Sonam Wangchuk, MVC was the guest of honour at the inaugural ceremony.
Secretary Sports, Ravinder Kumar appreciated the University of Ladakh and Ladakh Mountaineering and Adventure Club for taking such initiative and assured support from the UT Administration. Later, he interacted with the students of the University of Ladakh attending the course.
Col Sonam Wangchuk, MVC also shared his mountaineering experiences with the students.
District Youth Service and Sports Officer, Leh, Tsering Tashi; Dean Students Welfare, University of Ladakh, Dr. Jigmat Dachen; Executive members of the Ladakh Mountaineering and Adventure Club were also present during the inaugural programme.
