1.5 quintals of rotten chicken seized in Khaltse market

Following the directions of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Khaltse, Mohd Sharif, a market checking squad carried out a surprise inspection of restaurants, hotels, vegetable vendors, and chicken sellers in Khaltse market and its surrounding areas on February 13.

During the inspection, the team examined the sale of frozen chicken and seized 1.5 quintals of rotten frozen chicken from a shop, which was disposed of on the spot. The squad also checked the use of non-commercial LPG cylinders in hotels and restaurants. A total fine of Rs. 7,000 was imposed on defaulters.

The inspection team was led by Naib Tehsildar Khaltse, Asgar Ali, and included Tehsil Supply Officer (FCS & CA Department, Khaltse) Afzal Khan; Sub-Inspector Skarma Angchok from Police Station Khaltse; BHW Tsewang Namgail from the Health Department, Khaltse; along with officials from the FCS & CA Department and police personnel.

Additionally, rate lists, food quality standards, hygiene practices, and required documentation were thoroughly verified.
