Mourning beating their chest and reciting lamentation, the Youm-e-Ashura-the 10th day of the first Islamic month Muharram was observed on 1 October in Leh.

Thousand across the district joined the mourning procession which was carried out from the main market. A blood donation camp under the banner of Alamdar Health Service was also organised by Anjuman Inamiya Youth Wing.
