The Silent Post Box: A witness to the era of handwritten emotions

Once, the post box was the most important spot on every street. People dropped their hearts into it—letters to mothers, news of a son’s new job, and messages of love to dear ones far away. Every morning, the postman would arrive, unlock it, and carry away the world’s joys and sorrows.

Today, the same post box stands rusted and forgotten. No one pauses beside it anymore. No one posts a letter. Now people say “hello” on their phones, send “I miss you” on WhatsApp, and receive job offers through email.

The post box does not feel angry; it only misses those days when people wrote words on paper, poured emotions into ink, and waited patiently for weeks for a reply.

In today’s fast-moving world, no one uses this post box. Yet it still stands silently—witness to a time when relationships moved slowly, and letters came straight from the heart.
