Foundation stone of multi-level car parking for 238 cars was laid by Gyal P Wangyal, CEC in presence of Sachin Kumar Vaishya, DC on August 30 near Moti market.

The six-storey parking space worth ₹27crore will be built under AMRUT scheme.

Gyal P Wangyal said that the multi-level car parking will play a vital role in decongestion of vehicular traffic in Leh town besides providing a convenient driving ambience for the people. 
 
Keeping the current crowded traffic scenario in the city, he urged PWD to complete the parking at the earliest possible.
 
Moses Kunzang Additional District Development Commissioner, Leh, Chief Engineer, PWD, Angorana, engineers and district officers were present.
 
Later, Gyal P Wangyal and Sachin Kumar along with a team of engineers inspected the progress of Balkhang-Pologround link road which will be completed very soon to facilitate the people living in town. The demolition work of old structures mainly the MC shops of Chandu-market are in active progress at present.
