Ladakh Sindhu Festival celebrated

The three day Sindhu festival began on 23rd June organised by Ladakh Phanday Tsogspa in collaboration with Sindhu Darshan Yatra Samiti (SDYS) and Bhartiya Sindhu Sabha.
Geshes Konchok Namgyal, President All Ladakh Gonpa Association was the Chief Guest,while the Director of CIBS Prof. Wangchuk Negi was the guest of honour and other distinguished guests included Indra Prasad Kumar All India Executive Member RSS, Murleedhar Makhija National President Sindhu Darshan Yatra Samiti, Hemant Das Motvani National General Secretary SDYS and Vijay Chhelingpa joint Secretary All India SDYS.
The programme started with the Larnga. A ladakhi Japro dance was presented by Vijyan Sindhu Children Group. Praising the beauty and importance of Sindhu a self composed song on Sindhu was sung by Phuntsog Ladakhi.
Speaking on the occasion Geshes Konchok Namgial expressed how Sindhu has bonded the people of India together. Those who drink the water of this holy river has always loved their country and are ready to sacrifice their lives for their country and the people of Ladakh has always maintained that love for our nation.
“During the recent incursion by the Chinese troops in Ladakh region, the brave soldiers of Ladakh Scouts were the first to offer themselves to sacrifice for their motherland”, he said.
A colourful drama and dance was performed by Vision Sindhu Children Academy and two other groups depicting the unity in diversity nature of India, and the importance of Sindhu, how it has feeded its children since ages.
They further highlighted how the water has been destroyed by building factories and industries and throwing of wastes in it.
At the end of the programme a beautiful dance was performed on “Mile sur mera tumhara” by a young girl depicting the varied culture of India.
Many people offered donation and took the holy water with them.
