‘Clean Ladakh Drive’ held in Leh

Hundreds of people joined the mega rally cum awareness programme ‘Clean Ladakh Drive’ from Leh gate till Eco Park Leh on August 30.
The rally was organised by District Legal Services Authority, Leh in collaboration with Bar Association Leh, Education Department Leh, Merchant Association Leh, All Ladakh Tour Operators Association and All Ladakh Hotel and Guest Houses Association.
Students of different schools, members of the Bar Association Leh, representatives of different associations and public took part in the rally.
People were made aware of water conservation/ harvesting, solid waste management and no use of plastics.
Spalzes Angmo, Secretary DLSA Leh emphasised on the importance of the "Clean Ladakh Drive" and the role of the DLSA Leh in this drive.
R. S. Jasrotia, Chairman DLSA Leh spoke about the harmful effects of the use of plastics.
He asked people to take the pledge against the use of plastics and to conserve water for a better future.
Different other speakers also highlighted various issues and the measures taken to curb the problem.
