A meeting regarding 15 days workshop on ‘Revival of Cultural Heritage at village level’ to be organised in Leh district was convened by Executive Councillor for Art and Culture, Stanzin Chosphel on January 19 at Council Secretariat.
 
Executive Councillor, Rural Development, Tashi Namgyal Yakzee; Councillor Chushul, Konchok Stanzin; Councillor Kungyam, Thinles Nurboo; Councillor Nyoma, Ishey Spalzang; Councillor Korzok, Karma Namdak and Councillor Upper Leh, Stanzin Tsepag attended the meeting.
 
EC Chosphel informed that a committee will be set-up in the presence of Chairman, LAHDC, Leh to discuss and plan for the workshop. He said that two committees will be formed, one for art and culture and the other one for archival and heritage preservation. 
 
Concerned councillors shared and discussed their ideas for the workshop and stressed upon nurturing young talents in the remote regions focusing on their regional culture and traditional practices. They also discussed providing media platforms to create an environment for young talents to showcase and preserve these cultural traditions. 
 
EC Chosphel informed that a separate meeting will be conducted with the concerned departments of art and culture to discuss more on the workshop.
