AIR Kargil celebrated Jashn-e-Jamhooriyat

All India Radio Kargil organized one day Youth Festival (Jashn-e-Jamhooriyat) at Changchub Chosling Gonpa Wakha to celebrate the world’s best democracy. Head Lama of the Gonpa Geyshes Sonam Pasang, AD (E) AIR Kargil Ramesh Kumar Soni, Programme Head Nissar Naseem, District Social Welfare Officer Kargil Aga Syed Jamal, prominent citizens and officers were present.
Around 70 artists from different parts of Kargil participated including the emerging folk singer of Ladakh Mohammad Abdullah.
Different song and dances were performed by the artists mesmerizing and touching the hearts of the audiences.
While presenting the welcome speech Nissar Naseem said that this festival is a part of the series of Folk Dance and Music Festival started by AIR Kargil last year from Zanskar and the main motive of organizing this festival is to encourage and attract the young folk artists towards different folk music and dance forms of Ladakh. He said that India is the largest democratic country and election is the biggest festival of the country and Jahn-e-Jamhooriyat is an encouragement to the youth of the country who participated in large numbers in the election process.
Ramesh Kumar Soni AD (E) highlighted that AIR Kargil has organized the festival to celebrate the democratic values of the nation. He thanked the Head Lama of the Gonpa & Gayshes Sonam Pasang for his support to AIR Kargil.
The Programme was anchored by Mohammad Ali Tak and Tsewang Rigzin.
