Ladakh Tourism Pavilion receives ‘Best Design & Decoration’ award at OTM, 2024
Ladakh Tourism Pavilion secured the 'Best Design & Decoration Award' at OTM 2024. The esteemed award was presented by Deputy Chief Minister & Tourism Minister, Rajasthan, Diya Kumari.
During the three-day event, Ladakh Pavilion garnered significant attention from both national and international travel trade communities, as well as visitors. The official Ladakh Tourism delegation, accompanied by over 30 co-exhibitors, successfully captivated the audience at OTM 2024, attracting numerous tourists, holidaymakers, travel trade buyers, and tour-organizing professionals to explore the wonders of Ladakh.
The Ladakh Pavilion hosted interactions with hundreds of travel trade representatives from various states, UTs, and foreign nations. Engagements included presentations, short films showcasing both well-known and off-the-beaten-path destinations in Ladakh, and discussions on sustainable inbound and outbound travel.
On February 9, Commissioner/Secretary of Tourism Department, Kacho Mehboob Ali Khan, participated as a special guest in a session themed "Bringing Global Destinations to Indian Cinema." The session facilitated dialogue between Indian cinema production houses and tourism officials, emphasizing the collaborative effort required to streamline and expedite shooting permissions, making film tourism a reality in India and abroad.
Ladakh Tourism Department is dedicated to providing essential exposure to tourism stakeholders from Ladakh nationally and internationally, promoting Ladakh as a year-round tourist destination. Platforms like OTM serve as crucial forums for promoting Ladakh globally, enabling B2B, B2C, B2G, and G2G interactions that foster meaningful business relationships and disseminate information about lesser-known tourist destinations within Ladakh.
Following his Mumbai visit, the Commissioner/Secretary (Tourism) held a review meeting in Delhi with the GM, ITDC, focusing on finalizing the audio-video presentation for the upcoming light and sound show projects at Leh Palace and Suru River Front, Biamathang, Kargil. Emphasizing adherence to timelines, the Commissioner/Secretary urged ITDC to complete the projects before the Ladakh tourist season begins. The GM, ITDC, assured timely project completion.
Additionally, the Commissioner/Secretary is actively participating in the 58th Conference of Chief Inspectors of Factories in Bhubaneswar, organised by the Ministry of Labour and Labour Department, Government of Orissa. Discussions during the conference on February 12 revolved around the agenda items, focusing on necessary actions at the State/UT and Ministry levels concerning the formulation of Rules following the Labor Codes' framing, which are expected to be implemented soon.
