Chadar Trek 2023 commences from January 8
Ladakh’s famous winter adventure ‘Chadar Trek 2023’ commenced on January 8. District Administration, Leh under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Sonam Chosjor convened a meeting with the concerned stakeholders.
The decision was finalized after a detailed assessment of the preparation needed on the part of various departments, including Tourism, Wildlife, UTDRF, District Disaster Response Force, Health and Police along with the stakeholders like ALTOA and LMGA, etc.
ADC Leh stressed on the coordination and collaboration between the concerned departments and the stakeholders to successfully conduct the Chadar Trek. He directed them to ensure that their defined roles and responsibilities during the trek should be fulfilled in their entirety without any lapses. He instructed that the basic amenities/facilities should be provided to ensure the safety, health, and hygiene of everyone involved in the trek.
Furthermore, he instructed them to ensure the rules and regulations put in place for the safety of the trekkers and the protection of the environment should be strictly followed by all the stakeholders.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Controller of Finance (CCF), LAHDC Leh; Deputy Superintendent of Police, PHQ, Leh; Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Disaster Response Force; Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Leh; Assistant Director, Tourism, Leh; representatives from UTDRF, Wildlife, LMGA and ALOTA, and other concerned officials.
