Preparations underway for Climate Cup 2024 Football tournament in Leh
A preparatory meeting for the Climate Cup 2024 football tournament was held at the Council Secretariat, Leh. The tournament is scheduled to take place in Leh during the first week of September.
Chairman/CEC Adv. Tashi Gyalson led comprehensive discussions with relevant officers and officials to review the necessary arrangements for the tournament's success. He underscored the importance of meticulous planning and timely execution to ensure a smooth and impactful event. CEC Gyalson also highlighted the need for effective branding and publicity, urging promotion across various national platforms to maximize awareness and encourage widespread participation.
The Climate Cup 2024 aims not only to spotlight the effects of climate change but also to be an environmentally conscious event. The tournament will incorporate various green initiatives and strive to achieve carbon-neutral status, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability. A trophy unveiling ceremony featuring an eco-friendly design will be a key highlight, along with a climate summit held alongside the tournament to foster discussions on climate action and solutions, further underscoring the event's dedication to environmental stewardship.

Secretary Culture Tsewang Paljor, District Youth Service and Sports Officer Tsering Tashi, and officials from the Ladakh Football Association.
