The first-ever Ice Hockey coaching session focusing on basic techniques for children in the Sub-Division of Khaltse took place at the Ice Hockey rink in Khaltse on January 14. The initiative was organised by Councillor Lobsang Sherab and local villagers.

Expressing sincere gratitude, Councillor Sherab thanked all the coaches, including Padma Angmo Alchi, Tsewang Phuntsog Saspol, and Skarma Tsultim Thiksay, for imparting their expertise in Ice Hockey skating to the children. He encouraged the young participants to actively engage in such courses, emphasising the importance of sports for overall child development.

The coaches, honored as chief guests, demonstrated and taught the fundamental techniques of Ice Hockey skating to the enthusiastic participants. 

During the occasion, Nambardar and Women Alliance Khaltse President expressed heartfelt gratitude to the organizers for promoting sports coaching in Khaltse. The event was attended by Venerable monk Padma Thinles, Nambardar Stanzin Phurboo, Women Alliance President Khaltse Tsering Tsomo, Women Alliance members, villagers, and numerous students.

Looking ahead, a volleyball tournament is scheduled to commence on January 22, 2024, at Khaltse, promising more opportunities for sports enthusiasts in the region.
