Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY), with the objective of achieving saturation of government schemes, was organised at Shaday in Panchayat Cha, located in the remote Lungnak Block of Zanskar Sub Division on January 23. 

Shaday, despite being a secluded hamlet with just 10 households and approximately 65 residents, served as the venue for hosting the VBSY. Various officers and officials from different departments undertook a challenging journey to reach Shaday village on January 21 overcoming the inaccessible road from Cha Lungnak. Covering a 30 km trek through difficult terrain, the Sankalp Yatra team spent the night at Yougar village near Phukthar monastery on the first day. The yatra continued on the second day, departing from Yougar village at 7 AM and reaching Shaday late in the evening on January 22.

Day Nodal Officer Abdul Shukoor, along with officials from Health, Revenue, Education, FCS&CA, Sheep Husbandry, Animal Husbandry, ICDS, RD&PRD, Social Welfare, PWD department, and villagers, participated in the event.

The officers interacted with citizens eligible for various welfare schemes, disseminating information and creating awareness about government-sponsored public-centric initiatives. Interactive sessions were conducted, and different departments organised camps to inform locals about the procedures to avail welfare schemes.

Highlights of the event included a health camp where 10 patients underwent BP checkups, an Aadhar enrollment camp completing 1 new Aadhar enrollment for an 81-year-old woman and updating 22 Aadhaar records. The FCS&CA Department completed 17 e-KYCs for beneficiaries.

The Animal and Sheep Husbandry Departments raised awareness about centrally sponsored schemes like KCC and NADCP. Information on FMD and brucellosis was provided, and activities such as brucellosis vaccination for 4 to 8-month-old female calves and new registration of ear tags were carried out. The department distributed medicines and first aid supplies, educating the residents of Shaday about the significance and benefits of livestock and sheep rearing.
