To review developmental work under Border Area Development Programme (BADP), Vikas Kundal, DC convened a meeting on May 13 in Kargil.

 

Vikas Kundal inquired about the physical status of the ongoing works, a number of schemes completed during 2017-18 and also the headway achieved so far.

 

A discussion on the proposed Annual Action Plan for the financial year 2018-19 was also held.

 

He directed officers to ensure satisfactory provision of basic amenities to the people of the border areas. And also to gear up their men and machinery to complete the work within a stipulated time period.

 

The officers were also directed to keep a check on the quality of works so as to create productive assets in the border villages. He further added that the disputes in regard to the execution of works should be promptly brought to the notice of the administration for timely resolution.

 

The work proposed during the current financial year includes construction of link roads, footpaths, provision of drinking water supply, construction of PHC buildings, electricity, capacity building and skill development, construction of toilets particularly for ladies, construction of schools and play fields etc.
