Vice-Chancellor, Ladakh University visits Government Degree College, Drass
To analyze the functioning of Government Degree College, Drass, C Phuntsog, Vice-Chancellor, University of Ladakh visited Government Degree College, Drass, on December 17.
Amjad Ali, Principal of the college briefed Vice-Chancellor about the present status of the college, its issues and problems, future prospects and the expectations from the University of Ladakh.
While interacting with the students and faculty members, C Phuntsog briefed about the University’s future plans and how the college could contribute towards the development of higher education in the region. Also, he talked about the importance of higher and advanced learning and their impact on the socio-economic growth of Drass.
The students highlighted their grievances on which the VC assured early resolution of all issues and all possible assistance. He also lauded the efforts of the college authorities and students for the successful running of the college even during the harsh winters.
C Phuntsog also visited the site allotted for the permanent campus of Government Degree College, Drass and gave valuable suggestions to the Principal about the alignment of buildings and to utilize the available space efficiently.
The VC had a first-hand experience of how the college functioned under sub-zero conditions and how people managed their lives. He was accompanied by the Imteeaz Kacho, Registrar; Deskyong Namgyal, Controller of Examinations and other concerned officers.
