UT Secretariat Leh celebrates Constitution Day with pledge ceremony
The Constitution Day was celebrated at the UT Secretariat, Leh, on November 26, with all Secretariat officials and officers actively participating in the observance.
During the celebration, officers and officials from various departments took a pledge to reaffirm their commitment to the values enshrined in the Preamble of the Constitution of India.
Principal Secretary, UT Ladakh, Sanjeev Khirwar, led the participants by reading out the Preamble. He emphasized that every Indian citizen must uphold the values set out in the Preamble and adhere to the Fundamental Duties prescribed by the Constitution.
Constitution Day, also known as Samvidhan Divas, marks the adoption of the Indian Constitution on November 26, 1949, which established India as a sovereign, socialist, secular, and democratic republic. It came into effect on January 26, 1950.
The event was attended by Commissioner/Secretary, Social and Tribal Department, UT Ladakh, Commissioner/Secretary, Medical and Health Department, UT Ladakh, Chief Electoral Officer, Administrative Secretaries, and other senior officers of the UT Secretariat.
