Government Degree College (GDC) Nubra launched a six-day educational and exposure tour for its students to Srinagar on September 18. The tour, aimed at enhancing practical learning and offering exposure to new academic environments, was officially flagged off by the college's Principal, Dr. Tsewang Motup.

The group consists of 13 selected students, accompanied by faculty members, with Dr. Konchok Dorjey, Assistant Professor of Botany, serving as the tour in-charge.

Dr. Tsewang Motup emphasized the importance of such tours in fostering experiential learning beyond the classroom. He noted that exposure to different academic institutions and environments, especially in a city like Srinagar, provides students with a unique opportunity to broaden their academic horizons. These tours are designed not only to enhance students' knowledge but also to give them firsthand experience of scientific, historical, cultural, and social advancements in other regions and institutions.

He encouraged students to fully engage in the learning experience by actively participating in all academic and cultural activities, asking questions, and absorbing as much knowledge as possible. Dr. Motup also advised students to build connections with fellow students, academics, and professionals in Srinagar, which could benefit their future educational and professional pursuits. He extended his gratitude to Commissioner Secretary of the Higher Education Department, Padma Angmo, for her continuous support in providing such educational opportunities for both students and faculty.

Wishing the students and faculty a successful and enriching tour, Dr. Motup expressed hope that the trip would contribute positively to their academic growth and personal development.

During the tour, students will visit various educational institutions, research centers, and historical landmarks in Srinagar. This will provide them with a comprehensive understanding of the region’s academic and cultural heritage, offering insights into diverse fields such as botany, history, social sciences, and the biodiversity spanning from Ladakh to Srinagar.
